Connecting Slack

Connect Slack and LetEmily sends you a reminder before each 1:1 with a button to capture a note right there, plus a quick /letemily command for looking things up. LetEmily cannot read your channels: it only ever sees a slash command, a button you click, or a message sent directly to it.

How do I connect Slack?

From Settings, choose Integrations, then Connect Slack. You will be sent to Slack to approve the connection for your workspace, then returned to LetEmily.

You can also connect Slack during the setup wizard the first time you sign in.

  1. Go to Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Select Connect Slack.
  3. Approve the connection on Slack’s own page.
  4. You are returned to LetEmily with Slack connected.

What does connecting Slack actually do?

Two things. First, LetEmily sends you a reminder in Slack before a 1:1, with a button that opens a small form to capture a note or a follow-up without switching apps.

Second, a `/letemily` command is available for quick lookups: `/letemily schedule` for your upcoming meetings, `/letemily notes` for a meeting’s notes, `/letemily next` for your next meeting, and `/letemily help` for the full list.

What can Slack not do yet?

Talking to Emily directly in Slack, by mentioning the bot or messaging it, is not available yet. Use Ask Emily inside LetEmily for that.

LetEmily cannot read the messages in your channels. The Slack connection is scoped so it only ever sees a slash command, a button click on its own messages, or something sent directly to it: never your channel history.

Can I disconnect Slack later?

Yes, at any time, from Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting stops reminders and capture prompts; it does not delete notes or follow-ups you have already captured.
