Delete your LetEmily account

LetEmily is a product of Bright Root Labs LLC. You can delete your account and its data at any time, on every plan. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.

Delete your account in LetEmily

  1. Sign in at letemily.com and open Settings, then Privacy & Data.
  2. Optional but recommended: select Export My Data to download a copy of everything first.
  3. Select Delete My Account, read what will be deleted, then select I Understand, Continue.
  4. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly as shown, then enter your password to confirm it is you.
  5. Your account is deleted, you are signed out, and we email you a confirmation.

If you have a Pro subscription, we cancel it for you, immediately, as part of deleting your account. No further charges will be made. The current billing period is not refunded.

If you use the LetEmily mobile app: the app does not create accounts, so deletion is done on the web as above. Signing out of the app deletes everything the app stores on your phone.

What is deleted

Everything tied to your account is deleted from our database at the moment you confirm:

  • Your profile and account information
  • Every team you manage and every team member you have added
  • All meetings, notes, and follow-ups (commitments)
  • Your Ask Emily conversation history
  • Your Morning Reports, Weekly Reflections, meeting prep and other insights stored for you
  • Feedback and survey responses you sent us
  • Integration connections and settings, including the access credentials LetEmily stored for them
  • Your AI usage records, your activity history, and your integration logs
  • Your cookie consent records
  • Email still waiting to be sent to you

What we keep, and for how long

  • Our privacy audit log. We keep the log entries recording that your account was deleted and, if you ever did either, that you exported your data or gave, refused or withdrew a consent, as a security and legal accountability record. Each holds the date and time and what was done, and may hold the network (IP) address and browser the request came from; the deletion and export entries also hold an internal account reference number. None contains your content, your name or your email address. Each is deleted automatically 365 days after it was written.
  • Sign-in attempt records. Records of sign-in attempts and temporary lockouts are kept for security; when you delete your account, your email address is replaced in them with an anonymous value. They are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Security event records. Records of security events linked to your account, such as failed sign-ins or blocked requests, are kept so we can investigate abuse of the service. When you delete your account they are reduced to the type of event, its date and time, a shortened network (IP) address with its last part removed, and the browser family (for example "Chrome"); the link to your account, your email address and every other detail are removed. Each is deleted automatically 180 days after it was written.
  • Referrals. If someone referred you, their record of the referral, which their credit depends on, is kept with your email address and device details removed.
  • Demo requests. If you asked us for a LetEmily demo, that request is a separate record and is not removed by deleting your account. Email privacy@letemily.com and we will delete it.
  • Payment records. Card payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor, which keeps billing and invoice records for tax and accounting purposes. We never store your card details.
  • Backups. Our off-site database backups are encrypted before they leave our server and are kept for disaster recovery on a rotating schedule, over up to about three years. Backups are not edited, so your data can remain in them until they rotate out; they are used only to recover the service after a disaster, never to restore an individual account.
  • Access you granted to other services. Before your account is deleted, each connected integration is disconnected, the same as the Disconnect button in Settings, and the credentials LetEmily stored for it are deleted. For Google, LetEmily also asks Google to revoke its access. For Slack, LetEmily’s access to the workspace is removed in Slack too, unless someone else in your workspace still uses LetEmily. Microsoft does not offer a way for LetEmily to revoke its own access, so remove LetEmily from the apps listed in your Microsoft account if you want that gone as well.
  • Copies outside LetEmily. Emails we have already sent you, files you exported, notes you saved to your own Google Drive or OneDrive, and messages LetEmily posted in Slack stay where they are; delete them there if you want them gone.

Our Privacy Policy describes every retention period in full.

If you cannot sign in

First try resetting your password; once you are signed in you can delete the account yourself, immediately.

If that does not work, email support@letemily.com from the email address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my LetEmily account". Sending from that address is how we know the request is yours, so we cannot act on a request sent from a different address. We delete the account as described above, you receive the same confirmation email, and we respond within 30 days.
